TNP's Meet the Elected Official event is a unique opportunity for nonprofits to meet and connect with a local elected official. When nonprofit leaders and civic leaders connect, we can create partnerships for greater impact.

We invite you to join us for a gathering with Assemblymember José Solache Jr. 62nd District. Gain firsthand knowledge and understanding of their ideas and goals. Moreover, seize the chance to actively engage with both elective officials by posing your burning questions and learning the best ways to connect with them to establish a mutually beneficial partnership.

About Assemblymember José Luis Solache, Jr.:

Assemblymember José Luis Solache, Jr. was first elected to the California State Assembly in November 2024 representing the cities and communities of Lakewood, Lynwood, Maywood, Paramount, South Gate, Huntington Park, Bellflower and Walnut Park.

Solache has served as a Mayor, Mayor Pro-Tem and Councilmember in the city of Lynwood since 2013. In this role, he's worked to recruit new job-creating employers to the city, build new parks, make City Hall more transparent and expand youth programs.

Prior to his service in city government, José served for three terms on the Lynwood Unified School District’s Board of Education. The district educates over 15,000 local students and José served as Board President three times. His election to the school board at the age of 23 made him one of the youngest elected leaders in L.A. County.

Solache was born in Bellflower, grew up in Lynwood and attended local public schools. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from California State University, Dominguez Hills. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, he served two terms as Student Body President. He also served as statewide Chair of the California State Student Association (CSSA).

About Councilwoman Megan Kerr, Fifth District City of Long Beach:

Fifth District Councilwoman Megan Kerr was sworn into office in December of 2022, but throughout her life she has been steadfastly devoted to civic improvement. A highly respected leader, Councilwoman Kerr was an active volunteer and community advocate before winning a seat on the Long Beach Unified School District in 2014. Having served two terms on the LBUSD Board, she now continues to bring her leadership, work ethic, and passion for public service to the critical work or shaping a strong, sustainable future for Long Beach. Councilwoman Kerr believes strongly in the powerful force of people and ideas. She is proud of the relationships she has formed with local nonprofits that meet the needs of Long Beach residents and help bring us closer to that vision for the future. As she has done throughout her life, Councilwoman Kerr continues to work hard every day to ensure that this City she knows and loves, and everyone who calls Long Beach home, will thrive and prosper for many years to come.
