This interactive session will empower nonprofit professionals to use AI tools to streamline and enhance the grant writing process. Participants will explore how to identify aligned grant opportunities, draft compelling proposals, and leverage deep research tools like ChatGPT, NotebookLM and Perplexity.ai to strengthen their narratives and data. The workshop includes live demonstrations, practice exercises, and ethical considerations to ensure participants leave with actionable skills and confidence to apply AI in their funding workflows. Whether new to AI or seeking to deepen your usage, this session offers practical insights for real-world impact.

Jen García is the AI Strategy and Partnerships Lead at Caltech’s Center for Technology and Management Education (CTME) and host of ELEVATED, CTME’s podcast exploring innovation and leadership in project management. A certified Microsoft AI Engineer Associate, Jen brings over 20 years of experience in education, having taught at UCLA Extension, UCI Extension, and USC. She founded Ingrained to democratize access to practical, hands-on AI education for businesses, educators, and mission-driven organizations and Employ California to support workforce development.

Jen also serves as the AI Executive in Residence at the Goldhirsh Foundation, where she advises LA-based nonprofits and public sector teams on integrating AI into their operations. Known for her strategic thinking and approachable teaching style, Jen is passionate about empowering others to thrive. Outside of work, you can find her open water swimming, cycling, running, reading, or writing.
