Every member of a nonprofit team can play a role in fundraising, and the board of directors is no exception! This workshop is designed for executive directors and board leaders to attend and learn together, and will provide best practices and practical tips for boosting your board members' confidence and participation in fundraising.

Topics include:

1. Fundraising & the “fiduciary duty”

2. Key roles for board members to get involved in fundraising

3. Equipping your board for effective fundraising & advocacy


Trainer: Launa Wilson, Launa Wilson Consulting LLCLauna Wilson Photo

Ms. Launa Wilson is a seasoned nonprofit leader and philanthropy professional with two decades of documented success building thriving major gift programs and strengthening nonprofit organizations. She established her consultancy in 2019 out of a deep passion for the nonprofit sector and the important role they play in our society. Through her business, Ms. Wilson provides a variety of business management, board development, and philanthropy related services to strengthen nonprofit organizations in the Inland Empire and beyond.

Ms. Wilson is a vocal advocate for best practices in nonprofit management and ethics in fundraising & donor relations. She is also an active volunteer and community servant, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Civil Rights Institute of Inland So. Cal., the March Field Air Museum, and Wakeland Housing Development Corporation. She is an alumna of the University of Nevada Las Vegas, having earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Social Work. Ms. Wilson is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., a distance runner, an avid gardener, and a music lover.



Cancellation policy: We require notice of cancellation at least 48 hours in advance of the class start time. No refunds will be provided for no-shows or late cancellations. LACDAC and First 5 Region Four grantees who register and do not attend will be invoiced for the full cost of the course. All registratns are encouraged to send an alternate if they are unable to attend.
